hmmer2-pvm software package provides HMMER programs with PVM (Parallel Virtual Machine) support, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hmmer2-pvm
hmmer2-pvm is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hmmer2-pvm package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hmmer2-pvm *
You will get with hmmer2-pvm package name, version, architecture and description in a table
